Fields in History

Candidates for the B.S. Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies with teaching
concentrations in History have several options:

History, Grades 8-12 Certificate: 36
semester hours in history; required courses are History 1310, 1320, 2310,
2320, 3310, 3377, and 4380; plus 6 semester hours of advanced United States
history, 6 semester hours of advanced world history, and 3 advanced hours
of either.

Social Studies, Grades 4-8 Certificate: 51 hours of social science courses: 27 hours of history (1310, 1320, 2310,
2320, 3310, 3377, 4380, plus 6 advanced U.S. history); 6 hours of economics
(2310, 2320); 6 hours of geography (3310, 3320); and 12 hours of political
science (2310, 2320, plus 6 advanced hours).

Social Studies, Grades 8-12 Certificate: 54 hours of social science courses: 30 hours of history (1310, 1320, 2310,
2320, 3310, 3377, 4380, plus 6 advanced world history and 3 advanced U.S.
history); 6 hours of economics (2310, 2320); 6 hours of geography (3310,
3320); and 12 hours of political science (2310, 2320, plus 6 advanced hours).
