Asst. Prof. of Physics
Advertisement:
McMurry University, a United Methodist affiliated liberal arts university,
seeks to fill a tenure-track assistant professorship in Physics beginning
August 2008. The successful applicant
is expected to teach undergraduate physics courses at all levels (including
courses for non-science majors), carry out a modest research program, and
be willing to support the University
Mission Statement.
Additional consideration will be given to those applicants who can involve
undergraduates in research and/or who have an experimental or engineering physics background.
A Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering Science is required by the start date.

The normal teaching load is 3 lectures and 2 labs per week. General
education courses have typical enrollments between 15 and 30 students; upper
division physics courses have enrollments of 5 + 2 students.
Freshman physics enrollment (students in the first course for majors)
as been gradually increasing over the past several
years. McMurry is a
