The McMurry Chapter of Psi Chi had a six joint meetings with the Psychology Club this year, including the Christmas Party in December. Topics for these meetings included: how to get involved with research, what is needed in order to get into graduate school, information about the area of school psychology, working with persons affected by AIDS/HIV, and a panel of former McMurry graduates talking about their experiences in the field of Psychology.
Psi Chi raised money for the student road-trip to the Southwestern Psychological Association in April 2004 by helping the Abilene Psychological Association with a local seminar, the sale of McMurry Psychology tee-shirts, and a bake sale.
Psi Chi held its induction of new members at the Spaghetti Warehouse on February
27, 2004. Congratulations to this year's inductees! They were: Elizabeth Banks,
Jamie Burnett, Stephanie Hunter, Abbie Lechler, Kimberly Moore, Sharon Norman,
Amy Rogge, and Sarah Simank. Elections for next year's officers were held. Elizabeth
Banks was elected president, Stephanie Hunter was elected vice-president, and
Jamie Burnett was elected secretary/treasurer.
