Bertolt Brecht was born in
Augsburg, Germany in 1889 and died in Berlin in 1956. Brecht is best known
for his plays including such classics as The Threepenny Opera,
Galileo, and Mother Courage and Her Children. In Galileo
Brecht explores probably the most famous conflict between the search for
truth in science and religious authority. You may wish to peruse the
directors notes. from McMurry's production (available on videotape at the AEC).
