Julie Giddens named pitcher, Michelle Sanchez selected as pitcher
RICHARDSON, Texas – Mary Hardin-Baylor has swept the ASC Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week awards for the week of April 18. Julie Giddens threw a complete-game three-hitter against Howard Payne to be named Pitcher of the Week. She allowed just one run in earning her third win of the season.
This week’s Hitter of the Week selection is Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Michelle Sanchez. Sanchez went 4-for-4 with 3 RBI and two runs scored in the only game she played last week. The Crusaders will be the No. 3 seed for this weekend’s ASC Softball Post-Season Tournament to be played on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas.
Notable Performances: Mississippi College’s Renee Brown, a junior from Madison, Miss., went 9-for-9 for the week with nine RBI, three walks, a double and two stolen bases…Schreiner College’s freshman outfielder Ariana Pereida went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI against Incarnate Word.
