East Texas Baptist - 1998 Season Statistics
Marissa Lafitte
Volleyball Coach
Since the 1996 graduation, Marissa Lafitte has been on the staff of the East Texas Baptist University Athletic Program. She graduated from ETBU with a B.S. in Biology/Kinesiology and a minor in Behavioral Science and from Stephen F. Austin State University with a M.E.D. in Kinesiology. She has also earned Texas State Licensure in Athletic Training where she earned the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer for the 1996-98 seasons.
She will begin her volleyball coaching career during the upcoming 1998-99 year and will continue in her second year as Assistant Softball Coach. This will be Lafitte's eighth year of involvement within the Athletic Program at ETBU, and she is very enthusiastic of the opportunities that lie ahead. (top of page)
Marissa Lafitte feels fortunate to be taking over a program where the nucleus of the 1997-98 team is returning. She believes with the transition of head coaches and the move to a new division, the returning players have gained greater unity which should transfer to those athletes who are new to the program.
Lafitte expects great things from the players in the upcoming season with improvements being seen not only in their physical abilities, but their mental concentration as well. This is the program's third year of competition since its rebirth in 1996 and is expected to compete at greater levels as it matures. (top of page)
