The Federal Pell Grant is for undergraduates only. It does not have to be repaid. Eligibility is determined based on the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The actual amount of the award may vary with the number of hours in which a student enrolls. Certain assumptions have been made regarding enrollment status, and adjustments may be made after classes are in session and the actual enrollment status can be determined.

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant is for undergraduates only. It does not have to be repaid. This limited award is available only to students who are recipients of the Federal Pell Grant and have exceptional need as determined from the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Certain state and federal grants are awarded based on availability of funds. Renewal from year to year is not a guarantee. Therefore, to maximize financial aid options, it is to your benefit to file the FAFSA as early as possible each year.

Work Study

Work-study awarded amounts are not applied directly to the student account. If employed, a student will receive a bi-weekly paycheck for actual hours worked. Student wages are partially paid by McMurry and in part by the federal government. Therefore, eligibility is computed based on federal guidelines.

Students receiving work-study awards are not guaranteed a job. Accepting the award does not commit you to a job. Go to https://tgslc.org/mcm/genlogin.asp to apply & view jobs that are available.  If you have not previously completed an Employment Eligibility Verification form (I-9) at McMurry, you must do so before beginning to work. Identification documents are required as part of the I-9 procedure. Examples of acceptable documentation are a driver’s license (with photograph) and an original social security card.

Veterans Benefits

Veterans education benefits are treated as resources, not as income, and must be included in the student's financial aid award.
