McMurry University understands that the cost of a higher education represents a significant financial outlay for the student. We are committed to the philosophy that the cost of a college education should not be a deterrent to prospective applicants. Meeting these costs calls for careful financial planning by students and their families. McMurry offers financial aid to help families meet these costs. The types of financial aid awarded may include
Approximately 90 percent of all students receive aid from McMurry or other sources, including 60 percent with McMurry grants. During the 2005-2006 academic year, McMurry will award over 3.8 million dollars in institutional assistance. The average financial aid package covers more than 50 percent of the direct costs for full-time students. McMurry University does not award any aid based on athletic ability.
Students whose FAFSA results are received after the priority date of March 15th may receive less favorable sources of financial assistance because of limited funding and the demand for those funds. The financial aid package represents the best and most equitable award we can make, based on the information you and your family submit, the completion date of the file, academic performance and the availability of funds.
If you have any questions regarding information presented here or in other McMurry publications, or if you would like to discuss the impact of special circumstances relating to your own situation, please contact us in the Financial aid Office.
