Welcome to the website of the School of Social Sciences and Religion at McMurry University. The success of our graduates is the best evidence of the excellence of our programs. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, SMU, Baylor, and Emory University are just a few of the leading institutions where our students have gone to graduate or professional school. They are able to succeed at such high levels because SSR professors are distinguished scholars who mentor students as they learn to think, write, and do independent research in their fields of study. Our students receive the full benefit of an excellent liberal arts education in a setting where everyone receives personal attention from faculty members.
SSR has sent students to Jordan for biblical archaeology; to Malaysia and Switzerland for Global Model United Nations; and to Australia, China, and Haiti for other programs. Students also travel to academic conferences where they present their research to regional and national audiences. Our professors travel nationally and internationally to address professional meetings and share their work with colleagues from around the world.
