The Sikes-Melugin Lectures
The Sikes-Melugin Lectureship in Religious Studies was given in honor of Opie L. and John G. Sikes and Ruby D. and Roy Melugin, Sr., by their children and grandchildren. The founders of this lectureship hope to continue the appearance on the McMurry campus of significant lecturers and speakers such as those who contributed to their own intellectual/spiritual development while at McMurry University. Admission is free to the public.
The lectures usually span two days, in either the fall or spring semester of the current academic year. This year’s speaker is Dr. John Greco, Leonard and Elizabeth Eslick Professor of Philosophy at Saint Louis University. Professor Greco is a world authority in the area of epistemology and religious epistemology. He is the author of numerous books and articles and has edited a number of volumes. His most recent book, published by Cambridge University Press, is Achieving Knowledge: A Virtue-Theoretic Account of Epistemic Normativity.

Wednesday, April 6, 4:00 PM in Bishops Hall: “The Epistemology of Testimony"
Thursday, April 7, 4:00 PM in Bishops Hall: “Religious Epistemology”
In addition to his lectures, Professor Greco will hold a Q&A type workshop for Jeffery Kinlaw’s Religious Epistemology class at 1:15 PM on Wednesday in Old Main 314. This is open to ALL interested people.
