If you are looking for the Dean of Student Affairs at McMurry University just stop, be still a moment and listen. You will be able to hear her no matter where you are on campus. Vanessa Roberts is known on campus for her excitement, passion and energy. She feels her contribution to the McMurry experience is to “help students find their passions and make a difference. I am committed to ensuring the success of McMurry students and helping them have a great college experience.”

If anybody is a role model for campus involvement, Vanessa tops the charts. Vanessa has worked with the Campus Activities Board, SOAR, Vision Quest. She has served as sponsor of a men’s social club, Women’s Interclub Council, and McMurry Student Government. Also, she played a large role in the new tradition of Holy Week.

Vanessa serves as the coordinator for Vision Quest, the freshman orientation program. Through Vision Quest she has developed a strong relationship with the McMurry student body. Vanessa feels her inspiration comes from the students. “Knowing that when I come into work every day I have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a college student; to inspire them, to motivate them, to encourage them, to educate them – that is the best feeling in the world!”
