What's New? A New Step Toward Restoration of the Old Main Theatre The Ryan Little Theatre has upgraded its lighting control console with the purchase of a new ETC ION Lighting Control Board with a peripheral Play-Back Wing. In addition, two more Martin Mac 250 Krypton Intelligent Lighting Fixtures were added to the inventory, for a total of four automated fixtures. The new console will make control of automated fixtures, as well as control of conventional lighting easier to program, reducing the time required to prepare lighting for departmental productions. The new console and fixtures are also compatible with the recently installed lighting system in Radford Auditorium. The purchase of the new equipment was made possible through the generosity of the newly created Ryan Fine Arts Endowment Fund. The Theatre Department’s Out of a Trunk Players troupe is currently performing, The Great Cross Country Race, adapted by Alan Broadhurst, under the auspices of Young Audiences of Abilene. The production will be performed in area elementary schools as a one of the Young Audience’s roster of artists, bringing the fine arts back into public school education. Dr. Philip Craik is directing the production. See the Theatre Opportunities page for more details. |
