“I joined the McMurry community in May, 1991, as a part‐time math tutor and developmental math instructor. This experience helped me realize that many students have a difficult time just being students. Many students were dealing with other issues that interfered with their ability to succeed academically, which propelled me to attend graduate school to study Counseling and Human Development (M.Ed. 1993) and to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. In 1993, a Title III grant provided the funding to establish an Academic Enrichment Center (AEC). At that time, I became the director of both the AEC and the Developmental Studies (DEVS) program and have enjoyed helping McMurry students achieve their goals ever since.”
