How to Apply for Financial Aid

Applying for financial aid may be somewhat overwhelming and seem to be a very complicated process. You will have the best success if you read the forms carefully, complete forms accurately and completely, apply early, and ask for help when you're not sure of how to proceed. If you and your family need help in meeting the costs of college, apply for financial aid and the McMurry University Financial Aid Office will do its best to help you.

Please use the following checklist as your guide as you complete the financial aid application process.

	Submit the Application for Admission including all transcripts and test scores. You must be approved for admission before you will be awarded financial aid.
	File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online, as soon as possible after January 1 of each year. The priority deadline for financial aid paperwork is March 15.
	If selected for verification, submit the Verification Worksheet and signed copies of all pages and schedules of your own and your parents' (dependent students only) federal income tax returns & W-2 forms of the prior year to the McMurry Financial Aid Office. If your parents' last name is different from yours, be sure your name and social security number are written on the top of the tax return and other documents submitted.
	Check your Student Aid Report for errors, and make corrections online.
	Respond promptly to requests for additional information.
	Sign and return the award letter by the date indicated on it. Click here to complete your FAFSA
