Welcome to the Jay-Rollins Library.
The library opened in 1963, named in honor of donors S. M. Jay and Nat G. Rollins. It provides access to over 150,000 books, 80 databases, 195 print periodicals, 4000 online journals, media equipment, videos, and music CDs. In addition to the library staff, the building houses the Academic Enrichment Center, MOVE office, Academic Athletic Resource Coordinator, and McWhiney research staff. The library is a member of the Abilene Library Consortium, which provides a shared catalog and courier service between McMurry University, Abilene Christian University, Hardin-Simmons University, Howard Payne University (Brownwood, TX), and the Abilene Public Libraries.
The Library supports the academic programs of the University by securing print and electronic materials to meet the needs of the curriculum; organizing and ensuring access to materials added to the Library’s collections; providing instructional, reference, circulation, course reserve, and interlibrary loan services; and cooperating with other libraries to make additional resources available.
