McMurry University administers ASSET placement instruments in three skill areas: writing, reading, and elementary algebra. Each of these assessments is given during 25 minute testing periods. Students should be aware of the allotted 25 minutes and budget their time accordingly. They should also be aware that they will not be penalized for wrong answers and should therefore answer each question, even if they must guess.
