An informational meeting will be held Thursday, March 5th at 3:00 pm in the Mabee room. Sign-ups will take place March 16-20, for those currently living in the apartments. Those who will be seniors next year can sign-up on March 23; juniors March 24; sophomores March 25. All sign-ups will take place in the Residence Life office, in the Campus Center room 104. Students will be notified of their placement status via campus mail on Friday, March 27. Students may not break their lease without express written permission form the Student Affairs office. This fee is seperate from the Residence Hall deposit and may not be transferred or used as an Apartment deposit.
Apartments are fully furnished with the exception of washer/dryer. Washers and Dryers are located in the clubhouse in the center of the apartment complex. The clubhouse is also used as an entertainment and study room. Each apartment has a full kitchen, therefore meal plans are optional. Apartments are for single, unmarried students, without children. No smoking is allowed, and roommates must be of the same sex. Cable, internet access, local phone, and water bills are paid by the university. Electric bills must be paid by the students; they must call WTU at 1-866-5563 to request connection (or dis-connection) or for billing questions. Apartments are considered student housing, therefore financial aid is applicable.
2009-2010 Prices are:
2 bedroom: $400* per month, per resident
3 bedroom: $350* per month, per resident
4 bedroom: $312.50* per month, per resident
Apartments are billed on a per semester basis, all rent for the months during that semester being charged to the student's account on the first day of classes. All balances are due within 30 days of being applied to the student account. Balances over 30 days old are subject to a 1.5% monthly service charge. To avoid the service charge residents should pay their balance up front, in full. Residents may also opt to pay monthly, subject to the 1.5% service fees.
If a roommate moves out during the semester, 2 weeks will be allowed to replace that roommate. After two weeks, the apartment coordinator may assign a roommate to the empty space.
