McMurry University named top tier, Best Value in latest U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges Guide

McMurry University is proud to be recognized as a top-ranked institution for the 15th consecutive year by U.S. News and World Report Best College Guide. McMurry also is pleased to be identified as a best value in the Great Schools, Great Prices category for the 12th time in 14 years and was again recognized as one of the most racially-diverse universities in its region. McMurry competed with other institutions in the Western Region of the Comprehensive Colleges-Bachelor’s category for these rankings.
“We are pleased that McMurry is being recognized for its academic quality,” said McMurry University President Dr. John H. Russell. “McMurry’s U.S. News ranking is one way to emphasize the outstanding value a McMurry education provides its students. This ranking is a tribute to the hard work of our faculty, our staff and our students.”
McMurry was ranked the fourteenth top ranked institution in the Western Region, placing it first in its category among the Texas schools recognized by the magazine. McMurry was 9th in the Great Schools, Great Prices category and was ranked 4rd in the Most Diverse category, the highest among Texas universities in the Western Region.
In all categories, the top 20 schools are numerically ranked, while tier 3 and 4 schools are listed alphabetically. According to U.S. News and World Report, rankings are based on seven categories: assessment by administrators at peer institutions, retention of students, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving and graduation rate performance.
