McMurry University Fall 2007 Enrollment Shows Record Growth
McMurry University is reporting its largest total enrollment since 1993 and a record number of new students for the Fall 2007 semester, McMurry officials announced today.
“We are highly energized by our new freshmen and transfers as we continue to grow as a University both in enrollment, new programs and added facilities,” said McMurry President Dr. John H. Russell. “These enrollment increases are a testament to the hard work of our Enrollment Management offices, along with our faculty and staff, who worked tirelessly to reach these goals.”
Total enrollment is 1,466 students, a 5.3 percent increase from last year and the largest total enrollment since 1993, when McMurry started compiling these records. McMurry also welcomed 311 new full time freshmen and 135 new full time transfers into the new fall class. Including part time students, 482 new students are enrolled at McMurry this fall, the largest full time and total new student enrollment during the recorded period.
The 311 new full time freshmen reflect a 2 percent increase over last year’s class and is the third largest in fifteen years. The 135 new fulltime transfers reflect a 3.8 percent increase over last year’s class, also the third largest since 1993. McMurry also reported 1183 total fulltime students, a 3 percent increase over last year and the second largest, and a 3.7 percent increase in credit hours generated with 19,166 hours, the largest in the fifteen year period.
