The McMurry University Student Ambassador Board was in the midst of a fundraiser for student scholarships at McMurry when they received word of the tragic events at Virginia Tech. As an organization, SAB has decided to team up with McMurry Student Government to raise funds that will instead be sent to Virginia Tech.

The students involved in these two organizations will be collecting money this week from the entire McMurry community. All of the money raised by the two organizations will be sent as a contribution from the McMurry Community to any possible scholarship fund that may be established at Virginia Tech in memory of the victims of this tragedy.

“We want to support students that are no different from us that have been affected by such a terrible atrocity,” said Student Ambassador Board President Dodie Wooldridge. “We hope that our contribution will help Virginia Tech to rise up and overcome this and continue to provide a quality education to their students.”
