What is in the Campus Center?
The Campus Center houses many meeting rooms and departments, such as the Sports Grille, Religious Life, Mabee Room, Presidential Dining Room, Academic Enrichment Center, Texas Book Company, Student Activities, McMurry Student Government, Chapel, Post Office, and the nontraditional student lounge.

Mission

The Campus Center serves as the focal point for students, faculty, and staff at McMurry. It is a gathering spot for groups to plan and put on activities, relax in Windjammer's Lounge or the nontraditional student lounge, attend movies, bands and lectures, atend meetings and conferences, seek help or information, obtain information on capus events, use our on campus ATM, or just relax, read and eat. The Campus Center, as both a building and a concept, supports and augments the educational mission of the university by projecting classroom learning into the sphere of human experience.
History of the Shirley L. & Mildred Garrison United Methodist Campus Center
Completed in the fall of 1979, the United Methodist Campus Center is a $22 million structure located in the center of McMurry's campus. The campus center is a partially underground structure with grassy slopes rising around it's walls. This structure is used for a wide variety of activities. Weekly campus worship services are held in its chapel, dances are held in its huge ballroom, students free time may be spent in the snack bar and game room, and the faculty relaxes in the faculty lounge. The campus center was renovated in 2001 to include new carpet in the ballroom, new furniture and carpeting in the Windjammer's lounge. Other facilities located here are the campus bookstore, the Post Office, the Academic Enrichment Center, McMurry Student Activities, and McMurry Student Government.
