The Society For Creative Anachronism

is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to historical research and reenactment of pre-16th century western culture. I have been a member of this international organization for about 6 years now, and it is a lot of fun. It is a way to learn about the past not only by reading it in books, but by reliving it. Just as other groups act out famous battles of the civil war, we try to recapture the chivalry and honor that were the best part of the middle ages. Living in these Current Middle Ages, we are able to experience all the positive aspects of that society without all the plagues and peasants, and with all the advantages of modern life. I have included some of the more interesting pictures that I have of my activities in the SCA here. For more information or to search for groups in your area, I recommend the official SCA Homepage or search the Internet for the homepage of a group near you. Here is a list of some of the groupsI have been involved with:

  • The Kingdom of Ansteorra (Most of Texas, Oklahoma)

  • The Canton of Dragonsfire Tor (Stephenville, TX)

  • The Barony of Elfsea (Fort Worth, TX)

  • The Canton of Loch Ruadh (Fort Worth, TX)

  • The Barony of Stargate (Houston, TX)

  • The Barony of Bjornsborg (San Antonio, TX)
