NOTE:  Students must make a "C" or above to receive credit for a DEVS course.

Textbook:  John Langan, English Brushup, 2nd ed.

Course Description:

Students will concentrate on fundamental writing skills such basic grammar, mechanics, sentence structure, word usage, proofreading, and editing.

Writing assignments
Grammar assignments
Final exam

Required Tutorials:

Any student making below 70 on a weekly quiz will be required to complete a 30 minute tutorial with a writing tutor in the AEC the following week.  Upon completion of the tutorial, the student may retake the quiz for a grade of no higher than 80.

Attendance Policy:

Please note that since Writing Mechanics is a one-hour course, missing one class period is the equivalent of missing three class periods in a three-hour course.  Make attendance a high priority!

A    90-100

WP    Withdrew passing
