Dr. Kelly McCoun, , Associate Professor of Mathematics, is modeling the population dynamics of the Texas kangaroo rat, Dipodomys elator, as part of a study of the current distribution, habitat attributes, and population status of this species. Life history and population density estimates will be used to predict long-term persistence of this species for management purposes.
