Dr. Don Frazier, Associate Professor of History, is studying the historic landscape patterns and habitat of north-central Texas. This investigation is part of a study of the population dynamics of the Texas kangaroo rat, Dipodomys elator. Historic photographs, drawings, and accounts of explorers, government agents, military personnel, scientists, and travelers will be used to provide an estimate of the pre-settlement and early-settlement habitat in this area of Texas.
