Baseline Studies of Copper Breaks State Park

A faunal survey of Copper Breaks State Park began in the fall of 1994 and is an ongoing project of Biology Professor Robert E. Martin and undergraduate students . Field trips are scheduled several times a year to determine the locations and habitat associations of mammals, birds, and other vertebrate species. Locations of sightings are determined with global positioning receivers (GPS). Resultant data are then entered into a geographic information system (GIS) database for comparisons with current and historic habitat patterns.
