The first part of this article describes all the neat things that Office XP comes equipped to do. That’s all good and well, but what I found very interesting was the second part of the article, titled “Rob’s Opinion,” that has to do with the business applications of Office XP, and some of the comments of people that had tried this software. Rob expresses the concerns of small business owners who, lets face it, are eventually going to have to upgrade. The fact of the matter is that the rest of the world is going to be moving to XP to stay up with the times. That being the case, if you’re a business owner, the logical thing to do is to upgrade. The only problem with that is the price of Office XP. Not only is it the price of the software, but it could mean buying new machines that are capable of running the software.

Many times, Microsoft is seen as being the bad guy in deals like this. If there was any doubt about this, just read a few of the comments that come after the article. Of course, it is always easier to blame someone for your problems than to just fix them. Sure Office XP is not the cheapest software the world has to offer, but once you have, I doubt you would trade it for anything else, that is until the next version of Office.
