Welcome to the High Brass Mark Wilcox joined McMurry University as Instructor of High Brass in 2005. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where he directed the University Jazz Band for four years. Mr. Wilcox is in the process of completing his DMA in trumpet performance at the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Wilcox has performed with notable artists and groups including Count Basie, Doc Severinson, Aretha Franklin, Mannheim Steamroller, Jerry Lewis, Diane Shuur, The Four Freshman, and Manhatten Transfer. In addition, he has played with the Dayton, Springfield, and Oklahoma City Orchestras. Trumpet and Horn students at McMurry University have the opportunity for a diverse performance experience that will prepare them to play or teach in any genre.
