The end of this Fall 2009 semester is upon us and activities in the McMurry BIMS program are winding down. Students are home for the holidays, grades have been posted, and faculty are closing the chapter on one course while preparing for the semester to come.
This also represents a winding down period for my role as dean of the School of Natural and Computational Sciences. Beginning next semester, I will return to my first love (academically) and rejoin my faculty as a professor. I will continue to teach microbiology but also will create some new courses for the benefit of BIMS students. Expect the first new offering, an advanced microbiology elective, to be previewed on campus next fall. It ought to be fun.
In the meantime, for all our students and friends I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and blessings for the coming year. May we all acknowledge the Greatest Gift of them all – a Savior born in Bethlehem to save His people. Any other gift we might receive pales in comparison.
